Life Legacy


Shirley Anne Cooper, 76, of Jamestown, formerly of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born July 2, 1936, in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, the daughter of Bert and Lillie Mae Robinson Cassel. She was a member of the International Pentecostal Church of Christ. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Thomas) Engle, Xenia, a son and daughter-in-law, Tony (Mary) Cooper, Beavercreek, two grandchildren, Jessica Cooper and Joshua Engle, six sisters, Fannie Hatten, Phoenix, AZ, Opal (Joe) Patrick, Jamestown, Barbara (Bob) Hackley, Springfield, Florence Williams, Chillicothe, Connie (David) Getty, Denton, TX, Kay Blair, Springfield, a brother, Bert Cassel, Jr., Springfield, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard L. Cooper on April 16, 1976, and by two brothers, David Cassel and Bill Cassel. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 9:30am, Saturday, December 29, 2012, at International Pentecostal Church of Christ, 32 N. Limestone St., Jamestown, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm Friday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
