Arthur S. Curlett, 88, of Centerville, formerly of Xenia, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. He was born June 22, 1926, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of James J. and Imogene (Simison) Curlett. He was a 1944 graduate of Xenia Central High School, attended Miami University, and Sinclair Community College, and was a graduate of the University of Dayton. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II and retired as the City of Xenia finance director. He was a member of Xenia Masonic Lodge, #49 F. & A. M., Xenia Chapter #36, Dayton Scottish Rite, 32nd Degree, and Rotary International. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki (Dan) Johnson, Brookville, two grandchildren, D. Ellery Johnson and Emily Johnson, a great-grandson, a sister, Jean E. (Donald) Neff, Columbus, a sister-in-law, Jo Curlett, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth Conklin Curlett, and by a brother, Earl J. Curlett. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
