Keith Guyton

Arthur "Art" Keith Guyton, 69, of Flat Rock, NC., passed away suddenly on October 12, 2025. Born on August 17, 1956, in Washington, DC, but grew up in Xenia, Ohio. Art was blessed with a creative spirit and a big heart that touched everyone who knew him. A proud graduate of the Xenia High School Class of 1974. He went on to earn degrees from Cumberland University in Kentucky, a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and he earned his Doctorate of Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary reflecting his deep love of learning. Art had retired in 2023 from the VITAS Hospice and Healthcare Corporation where he served as Senior Director of Enterprise Implementation.
Art is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Daly Guyton of Xenia, Ohio his father and stepmother, Keith and Sandy Jones Guyton of Tipp City, Ohio, his nephew Kris Fowler, of Beavercreek, Ohio his beloved Harley Riding, skateboard riding Bulldog, Tank, and his Granddog Marley.
He is survived by his two sons, Benjamin Keith Guyton of Cary, North Carolina and Paul Leonard Guyton of Raleigh, North Carolina; his loving partner Susan Goodman of Flat Rock, NC.and her son Daniel. His siblings; brother Rick (Beverly) Guyton of Xenia, Ohio, sister Sally Guyton Fowler (John Staton) of Xenia, Ohio. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews, Trace Guyton (Diana Damico), Jim (Tary) Guyton and Alison (Darin) McCarren, all of Xenia. As well as great nieces and nephews Drew ( Makenna) Guyton Buroker of De Graff, Ohio, Sidney Guyton, Jojo Guyton, Gibson Guyton and Ivalou McCarren, all of Xenia, Ohio. He is also survived by his three Granddogs, Blue, Budro and Banshee, who he loved spending time with.
Art lived life his own way- boldly, creative and with a twinkle in his eye. He loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the open road, gardening, sports, good bourbon, a great round of golf and the arts. He had a sharp wit and laid-back sense of humor, always ready for a story or a laugh. He found joy in expression, connection, and creativity in all forms.
He deeply loved his family and many friends and found purpose and peace in his support for hospice care through the VITAS organization. Art will be remembered for his kind spirit, creative soul, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him.
Ride free, Art. You will be deeply missed by your many friends and family members and forever loved.
A private celebration of Art's life will be held in Flat Rock, NC in November.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local animal shelter or the Humane Society in Art's honor.
