Betty L. (Smith) South, 94, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 11, 1927, in Fairborn, Ohio, the daughter of Otto and Bessie Semler Smith. She was a former member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and retired from the W. A. Hammond Drierite Co. She is survived by her children, Pamela (Jerry) Bottorff, Xenia, and Mark A. (Janet) South, Bellbrook, grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Poeppelman, Anna, OH, and Keri (Justin) Pack, Groveport, two great-grandchildren, Mason and Jack, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William T. "Bill" South, on December 20, 2012, a grandson, Joshua Smith, by five sisters and four brothers. Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 25, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10am Thursday until service time. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
