Betty L. Troute, 96, of Xenia, Ohio, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 4, 2022, surrounded by her lovingly family.  She was the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Coleman) Shroads. She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Troute.  They were blessed to have enjoyed 69 wonderful years of marriage.  She was the adored mother of Nancy Volpe (Paul), Linda Schad, (Jim deceased), and Marcia Adams (Corey); grandmother of Patrick (Gwen), Benjamin (Kylie), Eric (Tracy), Jessica (Charles), Rachel, Ryan (Marlana),David (Kelly),  Jenna (Stephen), and Michael (Breanne); and great-grandmother (Nana) to Miles, William, Carmen, Liam (deceased), Wesley, Alexandra, Wyatt, Elle, Litton, Elizabeth, Truman, Reece, Sophie, Pryor, Sydney, and Finn, and nephew, Steven Pierson (Karen Sherlock). Betty was a devoted elementary teacher for the Xenia City Schools for 30 years. Upon retirement, she began volunteering for the Red Cross and Greene Memorial Hospital while energetically serving on committees and boards at Faith Community United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member. While always sharing with compassion and generosity with her time, she received the greatest joy from participating with love and laughter in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A woman of strong faith and a daily student of God's Word, Betty was guided by Christian principles throughout her life which inspired and supported her family and friends. Through her sparkling blue eyes, it was clear to all that she was always there to give and forgive, smile and share, and bring sincerity and joy to everyone she encountered. Visitation will be held from 4-6pm Sunday, September 11, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 6077 Far Hills Ave., #117, Dayton, OH, 45459, in her memory.
