Beverly Jane (Berry) Douglass, 84, of Xenia, Ohio, formerly of College Station, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017,at Legacy Village Memory Care of Xenia. She was born June 18, 1933 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Charles and Neitha Berry. Beverly was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church in Xenia. She attended schools in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Paschal High School. Beverly then went on to earn both a Bachelors degree in education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a Masters degree in education from the University of Texas in Austin. Beverly lived most of her life in Pampa, Texas where she also taught elementary school. She had many talents including sewing, needlework, cooking, reading, and gardening. But most of all, being a mother and a grandmother brought her the most joy.
Beverly is survived by her sister Dixie Berry Boley of Addison, Texas. In addition, Beverly had 4 children: Dixie (Frank) Szalejko of Beavercreek, Ohio; Stacy (Joe) Brown of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Kristen Manning of North Richland Hills, Texas; Clay (Beth) Douglass of Cypress, Texas. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Sharon (Robert) Torrison of Honolulu, Hawaii; Debbie (Matt) Kirinovic of Memphis, Tennessee; Scott Szalejko of Charleston, South Carolina; Lindsay (Eric) Verbit of Houston, Texas; Meredith Brown of Denver, Colorado; Douglass Brown of New York City, New York; David Grice of Shreveport, LA.; Casey Grice of Dallas, Texas; Curtis Grice of College Station, Texas; Andrew Douglass of College Station, Texas; Catherine Douglass of College Station, Texas. Beverly is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family celebrating Beverly's life at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Ft. Worth, Texas. The family wishes to thank the staff of Legacy Village for the compassionate care provided for their mother these past months.
