Obituary

Carnell DeWayne "Dick" Fisk, 87, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born April 1, 1928, in Clay County, Indiana, the son of Homer and Marie VanDevender Fisk. He was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church, Xenia, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He retired from DP & L after 40 years employment, and was a former volunteer with the Xenia Township Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Sluder) Fisk, whom he married, September 18, 1950, a daughter, Jill (John) Smilek, Beavercreek, two grandchildren, Jenifer (Chris) Robinson, Beavercreek, and Dan (Krista) Smilek, Cincinnati, three great-granddaughters, Marin, Laurel, and Samantha, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Rosalie Burcham, and by three brothers, Charles Fisk, Jerry Fisk, and Terry Fisk. Dick will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 2, at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 195 E. Third St., Xenia, Ohio, 45385, in his memory.
