Carolyn K. Thompson, 78, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1938, in Fayette County, Ohio, the daughter of Howard W. and Pearl M. Chenoweth Dale. She was a member of Zoar United Methodist Church and was a former member of Caesarcreek Grange. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Lowman, Kettering, two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel (Lorene) Thompson, Jamestown, and Gary Thompson, Xenia, and Judy Thompson, Fairborn, 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Maureen A. Dale, Xenia, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David P. Thompson, Jr., on October 16, 2013, a son, Stephen M. Thompson, a sister, Doris Hughes, and by a brother, Robert L. "Bobby" Dale. Carolyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 11am, Monday, October 17, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Bonnie Loudner officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30am Monday, until service time. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity in her memory.
