Obituary

Catherine "Kit" Seedle, 86, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Elmcroft of Xenia. She was born March 18, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Anna Fried Keller. She spent her formative years being raised on 6th Avenue in Brooklyn New York.  When she married she came to a dairy farm in Champaigne Cty, Oh.  She and her family moved to Xenia in 1958.  Kit was a member of St. Brigid Church, where she was actively involved in the Bereavement Committee. She enjoyed making apple and butterscotch pies for the weekly church Bingo and for the Old Timer's Club, and 100's of apple dumplings for the St. Brigid Festival. She was a volunteer for many years with the Xenia FISH pantry and a member of the Xenia Adult Rec. Center (XARSC).  She was also a member of the Xenia American Legion, Elks Club, and (Eagles)BPOE 668. Kit retired from advertising with the Xenia Gazette and Dayton Daily News. She is survived by her children, Richard C. (Julie) Seedle, Jamestown, Thomas J. (Carol) Seedle, Chagrin Falls,   Cynthia L. (Michael) Anderson, Jamestown and Jack D. (Diana) Seedle, Wilmington, six grandchildren, Kristen (Chad) Andrews, Shon Anderson (Jessica), Devin Anderson(Kiley), Christopher (Indre) Seedle, Justin (Kari) Seedle, Shonna (Chris) Morse, two step-grandchildren, Renee (David) DiSanto and Sarah Wantz (Thomer Schapira),ten great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William R. Seedle (Veteran), on April 14, 1979, her daughter Peggy (Margaret) Seedle, three sisters, Mildred Keller, Doris Keller, and Emma Keller, and by a brother, John "Bud" Keller, Jr.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Wednesday, September 20th  at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Tuesday Sept. 19  at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
