Charlene Copeland (nee Johnston) of Xenia, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17, 2022 at home.  She was born March 28, 1935, in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Charlene graduated from Bloom High School.  She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, where she met her future husband, Charles (Chuck). The two married on December 13, 1953 and enjoyed over 50 wonderful years together. She worked as an executive secretary at St. James Hospital, Johnson & Johnson, and other companies. Charlene was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church, playing the organ for over 30 years and singing in the women's trio. She later attended Lake Hills Baptist Church in Schererville IN and Washington Heights Baptist Church in Centerville, OH. Her interests included spending time with family, reading, and volunteering at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. Mrs. Copeland is survived by her brother Rodger (Paula) of St. Charles IL; daughter, Debbie Holt of Xenia, OH; and son, Tracy (Carolina) of Fort Fairfield, ME. She also leaves grandson, Brian (Anna); grandson, Adam; granddaughter, Isabella; great grandsons: Austin, Landon and Tyson; and great granddaughter Kate. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck; father, Charles; mother, Othelia; son, Terry; and son-in-law, Mike. She also leaves family friend Bethany Lee, who provided exceptional care for her in her final weeks. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Brian Holt, will be held at noon  on Tuesday, October 25 at Skyline Memorial Park, 2480 S. Governors Highway, Monee IL.
