Charles R. Jordan, Jr., 86, of Xenia, passed away Monday evening, November 1, 2010, after a brief illness. He was born in Moores Creek, Kentucky on March 15, 1924 to Charles and Martha Gambrel Jordan. He moved to Greene County after World War II and made Xenia his home for over 50 years. In World War II as a military policeman, he served in the security force of the Manhattan Project which created the atomic bomb. He retired from Koeh Ring Master of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Alice Centers Jordan, a sister, Lonzie Jordan, a brother, Sol Jordan, a grandson, Justin Jordan, and by a longtime special friend, Mary Moore. He is survived by his sisters, Oma Kimbro, Oakridge, TN, Jody (Max) Wallace, Xenia, Fay Beard, Sabina, and Jewel (Charles) Shepherd, Englewood, his children, Joe (Dee) Jordan, Dayton, Larry (Regina) Jordan, Apollo Beach, FL, Teresa Jordan (John Schiffel), Durango, CO, Michael Jordan, Caballo, NM, Altha (Patrick) Galliger, Xenia, and Mylinda (Carl) Schimmoeller, Ft. Jennings, OH, his grandchildren, Nicholas (Beth) Jordan and Michael (Dee) Jordan, of Valrico, FL, John Jordan Schiffel, Durango, CO, and Maria Jordan, Beavercreek, and his great-grandchildren, Dakota Jordan, Delainey Jordan, Julia Jordan, and Joshua Jordan, and a sister-in-law, Audrey Jordan, Xenia. Services will be held at 2pm, Friday, November 5, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Charles Shepherd officiating.
