Charles "Charlie" Kidder, son of Roy and Ruby Kidder, age 74, died at Serenity Hospice in Phoenix, AZ on Friday, December 11, 2015. The cause was Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was born May 3, 1941, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, and he lived and grew up in Yellow Springs and Xenia. He worked at Antioch College in Yellow Springs as custodian for over 20 years before settling in Phoenix, AZ in 1979. He worked for Associate Fence and Adams Fence in Phoenix until retiring in 2010 due to ill health. Charlie was a member of the New Life Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Phoenix. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marjorie and his son Gary Kidder, his wife, Macon, his granddaughter, Nicole, two brothers, Bill and Dick Kidder, and a sister, Rosella Dawkins of Xenia. He was predeceased by: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tobin, father-in-law/mother-in-law, Ken Tobin, Sr., brother-in-law, Kenny Tobin, Jr., nephew, and Darrell Dawkins, brother-in-law. A memorial service was held at 1pm Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church at 3039 W. Cactus Rd., Phoenix, AZ; the Reverend Nillia J. "Red" Noyes officiating. Memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to the Salvation Army at 6010 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ, 85301-1255. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com .
