Charles E.
Waulk
October 8, 1934 – March 6, 2026
Charles E. Waulk, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 6th, 2026, at his home in Jamestown, Ohio.
He was born on October 8th, 1934, in Cynthiana, Ohio to Charles and Florence Waulk. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on September 5th, 1952, to pursue a better life. While stationed at Kedena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan, he met his late wife, Yoshiko Inafuku. It was love at first sight! They married in 1956 and were together until her passing in May of 2023. Together they had 7 children and lived in numerous locations due to his 40-year military career. Within the Air Force, Charles earned a degree as an electrical engineer and ultimately achieved E-6 Technical Sergeant (TSgt) status. He served 20 years as an active military personnel and 20 additional years as a civilian at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Charles Waulk was an incredibly hard worker and a great provider for his family. He was a generous soul with a huge heart, always helping when he could. He was a devoted husband, a great father, and an even greater grandfather. Family was the cornerstone of his existence, and he loved to be surrounded by his grandkids. He was not a man to always express his affection with words or gestures but his love for his family was without a doubt, unquestionable.
Charles enjoyed taking his grandkids to Kings Island every summer, celebrating the holidays with everyone together, tending to his home and 5 acres with his late wife, and going on vacations, especially to his favorite place - Walt Disney World. During his last years, Charles grew remarkably fond of his home health caregiver, Keariya "Keke" Phillips, and looked forward to her weekly visits.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yoshi, of 67 years, his eldest son, James Lee Waulk, his son-in-law, David Lynn Young, his parents, Charles and Florence Waulk, his step-brother Orly Dale Benner, his sister, Shirley Michaels-Waulk, and his brother, Cecil Paul Waulk.
He is survived by his daughters Sue Young (Tom Guess), Patricia Scott (Brad Hensley), and Shelby Goodbar (Tony Goodbar), his sons Charlie Waulk (June Steiner), Richard Waulk (Nancy Waulk), and Robert Waulk (Sarah Waulk), his 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church starting at 10am with the funeral service to immediately follow.
