Cheryl Louise Knisley, 81, of Xenia, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Kettering Medical Center. She was born December 14, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Robert and Virginia Kathryne Howell Samson. She was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. She was a 1961 graduate of Portsmouth East High School and a 1967 graduate of Bob Jones University. She retired from Greene Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Knisley, whom she married February 14, 1975, three step-daughters, Lynne Marie (Loren) Sorneson, Amy (Debbie Wagner) Hall, and Carey (Alan) Hale, four step-sons, Dan (Sharon) Knisley, Brian Knisley, Craig (Andrea) Knisley, and Ethan Robert (Erin) Knisley, numerous grandchildren,and great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Gerald C. (Glenna) Knisley, several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Marcus Childress, and by a sister, Sandra Rase. Cheryl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, September 30, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10am Tuesday until service time. Burial will be in Silvercreek Township (Old) Cemetery, Jamestown.
