Claris A. Donovan, 85, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Ohio!s Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 8, 1937, in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Demoine and Imogene Horseman Frye. She was a 1955 graduate of Fairmont High School, and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Xenia. She is survived by two daughters, Becky (David) Brown, Centerville, and Jennifer LaRue, Kettering, grandchildren, Shannon (Michael) Kick, Emily (Alec) Reser, Amber Conley, and Heather LaRue, great-grandchildren, Jacob, Amelia, and Draco, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Glenn Robert Donovan, on May 31, 2019, a son, Edward Alan Donovan, a son-in-law, David LaRue, and by two brothers, Gerald Frye and Demoine Frye Jr. Claris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 17, at Christ Episcopal Church, Xenia, with Rev. Jean Cotting officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 63 E.
