David L. Holland, 97, of Spring Valley, passed away January 3, 2021, at the VA Medical Center Hospice, Dayton. He was born December 14, 1923, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the son of Harry Russell and Lula Bootes Holland. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He is survived by two sons, Douglas Holland, Dayton, and Larry (Phanida Phokhu) Holland, Thailand, two grandchildren, Dana Holland and Devon Holland, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ruth E. (Spahr) Holland, on February 17, 2008, a daughter, Teresa Holland, by two sisters, Ruth Elliott and Lucy Noble, and by a brother, Sherman Holland. David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private graveside services will be held by the family in Spring Valley Cemetery.
