Obituary

David M. Knisley, 79, of Xenia, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 24, 2025, at his residence with his wife and family by his side. He was born November 12, 1945, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of James E. and Georgia K. Bridgman Knisley. He was a 1965 graduate of Xenia High School, and retired from Dayton Power and Light Co. as a 1st Class Lineman. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (Morgan) Knisley, a daughter, Kimberly (Gary) Bull, a son, Bradley (Crystal) Knisley, five grandchildren, Dalton, Taylor, Kaleb, Klarissa and Kaden, a great-grandchild, Taytum, a sister, Patricia Seifert, brother-in-laws, Dennis Cross, Robert Morgan, Rodney Morgan, Roger Morgan, sister-in-law Jeneene Gibbs, many nieces and nephews, and several close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Charlene Cross, a brother, James W. Knisley, and brother-in-law, Theodore Seifert and sister-in-law Carole Morgan.

David was a very devoted, loving husband and father who always put his family first. He was a Mr. Fix it and anyone who knew him knew he was the "go to guy" for advice on how to repair most anything. When David set his mind to fixing something he would always "figure it out" and helped so many over the years in doing just that. He was always there willing to help. He enjoyed boating and spent many summers house-boating on lake Cumberland, Dale Hollow and Norris Lake with family and friends. After retirement he enjoyed hiking in the Smokies and biking the Little Miami Scenic trails.

David will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Private services will be held in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Dayton or the Dementia Society of America in his memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
