David K. Meeks, Sr., 81, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Greenewood Manor. He was born Nov. 3, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Rubie and Agnes Bucklew Meeks. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, where he served as an usher, and was an active member of the Xenia FISH pantry. He was a former volunteer with Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department and retired from Delco Products-General Motors of Dayton. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Dattilo) Meeks, whom he married, June 30, 1973, children, Suzanne Mossbarger, and David K. (Leigh Ann) Meeks, Jr., of Xenia, Scott (Lori) Anger, Jamestown, William Kent (Jodi) Anger, Enterprise, AL, and Kenneth A. Meeks, San Francisco, CA, 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Meeks, Cincinnati, Matthew Phillip Meeks, Xenia, Nathan Meeks, Xenia, Andrew Anger, Cincinnati, Kristin (Aaron) McClanahan, Xenia, Jacob Mossbarger, Centerville, Jenna Mossbarger, fiancé, (Mark Viviani), Cleveland, Evan Mossbarger, Dayton, Kaylee Mossbarger, Xenia, Allyson Anger and Justin Anger, Enterprise, AL, Lauren Modler and Dylan Modler, of Jamestown, a great-granddaughter, Ava Mossbarger, by several special nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including special neighbors, Tom and Ann Kemper and Dave and Sandy Morrison for their help during this difficult time. He was preceded in death by his parents, by a daughter, Angela K. "Angel" Anger, and by a sister, Barbara Finlayson. Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday, August 30, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. Andrew Cordonnier officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
