David Snyder Wheeler, 78, of Spring Valley, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015, at his residence. He was born September 25, 1937, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the son of Harry Allen and Ruth Ala Barnhart Wheeler. He was a member of Fairhaven Church, Centerville, and was instrumental in the creation of the Veterans Memorial at Spring Valley Cemetery. He retired as a long-time Greene County barber. He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Munn) Wheeler, whom he married, February 28, 1958, a daughter, Dawn Martin, Traverse City, MI, two sons, Tod (Sue) Wheeler, Chillicothe, and Scott Wheeler, Florida, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister, Emma Jean (Russell) Hughes, three brothers, Wayne (Dorene) Wheeler and Joseph (Doris) Wheeler, all of Xenia, and Warren Wheeler, Nevada, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Monday, October 19, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 4-6pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity in his memory.
