Donald C. Anderson, 69, of Xenia, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 31, 2010, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born June 5, 1940, in Xenia, the son of William W. and Helen Oglesbee Anderson. He was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church, the US Air Force Reserves, 1963-69, a Certified Investment and Insurance Planner (CLU) with Northwestern Life Insurance Company for over 45 years, Board of Directors, Society of Financial Service Professionals (Dayton Chapter), Life member Million Dollar Roundtable, member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Certified Life Underwriter, the American College, Bryn Mawr, PA., Registered representative, Northwestern Mutual Investment Services, former Greene County commissioner, lifelong member of the Republican Party, NACO (National Association of County Officials) Board of Directors (1 of 2 from Ohio), Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission (MVRPC), Board of Directors, Greene Oaks Health Center, former Board of Directors, Greene County Community Foundation, past president and former member of Xenia Board of Education (8 years), past president and former member of the Greene County Career Center (8 years), past board member of the Greene County Sheltered Workshop, member and past president of Xenia Rotary Club. He is survived by his wife, Carla (Schuddeboom) Anderson, whom he married, August 23, 1986, two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly (Scott) Sacre, Louisville, KY, and Karen (Todd) Nolen, Xenia, a son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Laura) Anderson, Waynesville, a step-daughter, Karen (Patrick) Wood, Davidson, NC, a step-son, Mark (Kathy) Vandenberg, Millville, eleven grandchildren, Mallory, Chloe, Jacob, Grace, Darby, Cameron, Ryleigh, Evonne, Nicholas, Marieke, and Courtney, three sisters, Nancy Jean Burns, Aurora, CO, and Elizabeth O. Anderson, Tampa, FL, Dorothy (David) Hein, Lenexa, KS, a brother, Dr. William E. (Aletha) Anderson, Corpus Christi, TX, a brother-in-law, Howard Hudson, Xenia, numerous nieces and nephews, and a close friend, and mother of his children, Joan Anderson, Xenia. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Peggy Hudson, and Eleanor Anderson, three brothers, Robert W. Anderson, Samuel M. Anderson, and Paul G. Anderson, and a brother-in-law, Raymond Burns. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Memorial United Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill Rd., Xenia, with Rev. Thomas B. Martin, and Rev. Kelley Shin officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Neeld Funeral Home is in charge of services.
