Donald A. Harner, 85, of Xenia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 10, 1939, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Paul and Edith Harbison Harner. He was a 1957 graduate of Xenia Central High School, and a 1967 graduate of Central State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church and retired from the Greene County Auditors office. He was a member of Farm Forum and served as its president in 1980, again in 2002, and finally in 2012. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Welch) "Sandi" Harner; a son, Scott Harner; a daughter, Amy (Jason) Thompson; three grandchildren: Zachary (Mary) Thompson, Jacob Thompson, and Sarah Harner, and by many close friends. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held at 9:30am Friday, February 21 at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, 1121 Dayton Ave., Xenia, OH, 45385, followed by an 11am service. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
