Doris Louise (Allen) Eakins, 93, of Xenia, passed away Sunday morning March 22, 2026 after a lengthy illness. She was born on November 14, 1932 in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Eber James Allen and Ina Mae (Goings) Allen. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church in Xenia for over 60 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Xenia High School and she retired from Dayton Power & Light. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and enjoyed attending the many concerts, sporting events, and activities her grandchildren participated in over the years. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael A. (Brenda) Eakins of Beavercreek, two grandchildren, Amy Eakins (Geoff) Winningham of Delaware Ohio and Kyle Allen (Stephanie) Eakins of Hilliard, Ohio, 2 great granddaughters Harper Madeline Eakins and Annie June Eakins, a sister-in-law Babe Eakins of Jamestown and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Delbert Wayne Eakins whom she married April 10, 1954, four sisters Maxine (Allen) Verba, Barbara Allen, Ruth Anna Allen and Betty (Allen) Thayer all of Xenia, a sister-in-law Joanne Mays and brother-in-laws Merton Thayer, Albert Verba, Robert Eakins and Harold Mays. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Services will be held for family and friends at Neeld Funeral Home in Xenia, with Rev. Jay Russell officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
