Dorothy M. Simison, 94, of Spring Valley, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Traditions of Beavercreek. She was born October 25, 1927, in Greene County, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard and Dorothy Ginaven Donovan. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Bellbrook. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey B. (Cyndi) Heller, Xenia, a daughter, Diana Henry, Xenia, seven grandchildren, Emily (Kurt) Kessler, Paul (Missy) Pitzer, Amy (John) Babb, Dan (Karissa) Henry, Eric Henry, Becky Burrowes (Nick Wiselogel), and Jason (Jocelyn) Burrowes, 21 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Joycelyn (Stanley) Vanscyoc, West Carrollton, two brothers, David Donovan (Barry Schlaile), Dayton, and Dale Donovan, Columbus, sister-in-laws, Claris Donovan, Kettering, and Judy Donovan, Lewisburg, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Heller, on October 1, 2004, her second husband, Harold K. Simison, on July 6, 2013, a son-in-law, Dale Henry, by a sister, Patricia Flohre, and by six brothers, LeRoy, Richard "Red", Bill, Glenn, Dennis, and Donald Donovan. Dorothy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services for the family will be held January 8, 2022 at Faith Community United Methodist Church, 100 Country Club Drive, Xenia Ohio, with Rev. Steve Becker officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, in her memory. The family would like to especially thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Traditions of Beavercreek, ProMedica Hospice, and the former staff of Greenewood Manor, for their loving care and assistance during this difficult time.
