Elaine Maxine (Knisley) Mitchell Mustard, 78, of Xenia, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Greenewood Manor. She was born May 7, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Ohio, the daughter of Clinton Clarence and Esta Faye (Ross) Garvin Knisley. She worked from the time of graduation until retiring as a legal secretary. She worked for attorneys, Bob and Nancy Hammond of Washington C.H., and Peterson and Peterson of Xenia. She married Charles A. "Chuck" Mitchell on July 23, 1966, at the Xenia "First Pentecostal Church" by Rev. Bruce Brooks, where they worked together as youth ministers, Sunday school department leaders, and song leaders for many years. She was married for 37 years, till his passing on January 24, 2003. She dedicated her life to Christ from an early age until she entered her Heavenly Home. She attended church faithfully at First Pentecostal Church (Xenia Christian Church), Victory Temple, Fairborn, and last attending, Liberty Worship Center, Xenia, with Pastor Gene Martin. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Darrell (Cindy) Knisley, a nephew and niece, Jerry and Vickie, all of Mesa, AZ, three step-children, Chuck (Annette) Mitchell, Beavercreek, Steve Mitchell, Kettering, Ken (Linda) Gardner, Xenia, five step-grandchildren, Matthew (Stephanie) Gardner, Xenia, Jamie (Hannah) Gardner, Xenia, Chad Mitchell, Maineville, Lindsay (Andrew) Heifner, Florida, and Rachel Mitchell, Beavercreek, step-great-grandchildren, Braymer, Hayden, and Eli Gardner, and Addison Gardner, of Xenia, and Samuel Heifner of Florida, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles A. Mitchell, and by an older sister Terri Lewis. Elaine will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
