Eugene W. Foiles, 88, of Xenia passed-away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born June 4, 1935, in Kampsville, Illinois, to the late Kenneth and Letha (Taylor) Foiles. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cynthia Janet Foiles, on November 14, 2010, two brothers, Russell and Arthur Foiles, and by three sisters, Rosalie Lawton, Mary Lou Cammann, and Norma Hirst. He is survived by his two sons, Marshall (Michaele) and Merrill Foiles; grandsons, Taylor and Matthew (Jessica); four step-grandchildren, Josh, Brittany, Adam and Emily; a sister, Anna Mae Coan, and by many nieces and nephews. Gene graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and received a Master's degree from the University of Illinois. Gene came to Xenia in 1964 and taught music at West (Warner) Junior High School for ten years and Xenia High School for thirteen years. He was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church where he directed the choir for eleven years and later became the organist. During that time he played or sang for weddings and funerals in many different churches, and currently attended Faith Community. He will be remembered for his love of antiques and Music and the many programs he presented. Gene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, December 28, at Faith Community United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 12 noon Thursday, until service time.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
