Evelyn M. (Smith) Smith, 95, of Spring Valley, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at her residence. She was born June 15, 1923, in Greene County, Ohio, the daughter of Roy and Rosa Gibson Smith. She was a graduate of Waynesville High School. She was formerly employed at J.C. Penney, Xenia, was a volunteer at the Spring Valley Senior Center, and was a former dispatcher for the Spring Valley Township Fire Department.  She is survived by three daughters, Carol (Fred) Zehring, Xenia, Peggy Smith, and Connie (Larry) Miller, of Spring Valley, seven grandchildren, Amy Zehring, Kevin (Jessicah) Zehring, Megan Zehring, Greg Zehring, Melissa (John) Clair, Jessica (Travis) Waddle, and Nathan Miller, eight great-grandchildren, Levi, Lily, Gwen, Will, David, Carey, Evey, and Kate, two brothers, Glen (Sally) Smith, Waynesville, her twin brother, Everett Smith, Spring Valley, by many nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter O. "Doc" Smith, on September 16, 2004, a son, Lynn Smith, two sisters, Janice Bowers and Esther McKelvy, and by three brothers, Melbourne Smith, Wayne Smith, and Clyde Smith. Evelyn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 11am, Saturday, November 17, at Valley View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Xenia.
