Obituary

Frances A. Miller, 74, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was born December 30, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Sue Hamilton Babcock. She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Miller, whom she married September 5, 1970, two daughters, Kasey (Aimee) Miller and Megan (Bill) Stuart, two brothers-in-law, Jim (Karen) Miller and Mike (Priscilla) Miller, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law Thomas C. and Joyce E. Babcock, and by a sister-in-law, Debra Chamberlain.

A dedicated public servant, Fran served as a Xenia City Commissioner from 1985 to 1990 and worked tirelessly with Greene County Domestic Violence Prevention programs, United Voluntary Services, and Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services. She retired from Xenia City Schools, where she made a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

Fran had a passion for crocheting, sewing, and collecting vintage fabrics and antiques. Fran will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held by the family in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a favorite charity in her memory.
