Obituary

Frances J. Pickering went to be with the Lord Monday at her home. She was born April 1, 1931 in Xenia. She was a member of the Tecumseh 39' ers camper club, member of the Oldtimers club and particularly enjoyed helping with the flea market at the September show. She was a 65 year member of the Paintersville/Eleazer United Methodist Church and a graduate of Xenia Central High School. She loved helping with her grandkids and had enjoyed helping on the farm her whole adult life. Frances married Richard Pickering on June 14, 1950 and they were together for over 62 years. Survivors include son, Dave (Terry) Pickering, of Jamestown, daughter, Sue (Jerry) Strickle, of Xenia, grandchildren, Shauna (Travis) Cunningham, Anna (Billy) Powers, both of Jamestown, Julie (John) Campbell, Columbus, Kayla (Seth) VanZant, Tampa, Florida, and Alex Pickering, of Jamestown, greatgrandchildren, Josey (Will) Powers, Frankie Howard, Annalea Cunningham and Emery Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Ross Matthews and Emzie Long Matthews, and a sister, Jo Ann Snyder. Services will be held at 11am, Friday, April 3, 2015, at the Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. John Beers and Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Friday, until service time. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville.
