Gay D. Smith, 58, of Xenia, passed away June 1, 2017, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born September 10, 1958, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas E. and Avonell Horton Moore. She was a member of Apostolic Church of Xenia, and was an accomplished piano player. She was a lover of animals, especially rabbits and cats. She is survived by her husband, Jerome W. "Bill" Smith, whom she married in 1990, a step-son, Jerome Smith, Jr., a brother and sister-in-law, Gary T. (Reeta) Moore, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held at 10am, Saturday, June 10, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
