H. Lyn Strickland, 77, of Dayton, passed away on her birthday, Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 9, 1937, in Delaware, Ohio, the daughter of William and Eula Hanlin McElfresh. She loved being a nurse and driving a Beavercreek City School bus. She Is survived by two daughters, Linda Kay Strickland and Sue Ann Spears, both of Dayton, four grandchildren, Gregory Spears, Kevin McPherson, Jessica Spears, and Katelyn McPherson, two sisters, Kay (Ray) Swartz, Delaware, OH, Sue Krichbaum, Miamisburg, a brother, Robert (Lynn) McElfresh, Charlotte, NC, by numerous nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Remer L. Strickland, on March 22, 2000, and by a brother, Walter Thomas McElfresh. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2pm, Thursday, December 11, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Graveside services will follow the visitation at Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, with Pastor Robert Forsberg officiating.
