Hannah Louise Kugel, age 93, passed away, August 6, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born to the late Robert P. and May (McCune) Peebles on June 12, 1922, in Lawrence County, Pa. She graduated from Penn State University in 1943 with a B.S. in Education. She taught school in Palmyra, Pa, until she married her late husband, Howard E. Kugel of Zelienople, Pa., on April 7, 1944. The couple then moved to Trenton, NJ, where they were employed during World War II by the Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors and Vought's Corsair Aircraft Company. The couple then moved to Xenia, OH where both worked for the Army-Air Corps/USAF at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. She was most proud of her personal service to her church, her community of Xenia and to Greene Memorial Hospital. She has enjoyed a 50+ year membership at The Westminster Presbyterian Church in Xenia, OH; was an active member of the Xenia City School's Parent Teacher's Association from 1956 - 1974; a charter member of Greene Memorial Hospital's Auxiliary from 1961 - 2008 during which she volunteered over 32,000 hours and received the Maggie Award in 1978 and the Kenneth Beams Award in 1988. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two sisters and her late husband, Howard. She is survived by her older sister Agnes Peebles from Cranberry Township, Pa; her sons Dan (Karen) Kugel and Bill (Vicki) Kugel, both of Oakwood, Ohio; two grandsons, Jeff Kugel of Dayton and Ryan Kugel of Oakwood; and two granddaughters, Lauren (Derek) Edgell of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Emily Kugel of Oakwood; and two great grandsons, Jackson Edgell and Henry Edgell of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday, August 10th, at Westminster United Presbyterian Church, 990 Old Springfield Pike, Xenia, Ohio 45385 followed by a service for family, close friends, and church members immediately followed by a private burial at Valley View Cemetery.
