Harold "Hap" Hilderbran, 88, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Kettering Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1931, in Adams County, Ohio, the son of Trace and Ethel Shivener Hilderbran. He was a member of the Xenia Church of Christ, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He retired as a postal carrier with the Dayton Post office after 35 years employment. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Connie Hilderbran, who he married, September 6, 1952, children, Linda, David, Jan, and Carole, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, a sister, Alice, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Chad Hilderbran, a son-in-law, Brian Oglesbee, a sister, Lucille, and by four brothers, Oscar, Kenneth, Gene, and Stanley. Hap will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens. There will be a celebration of Hap's life at 4pm, Friday, February 7, at the Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club Dr., with a service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Spring Valley Senior Center, 2551 US Route 42 S., Spring Valley, OH, 45370, or to the Spring Valley Township Fire Department, 2547 US Route 42 S., Spring Valley, OH,, 45370, in his memory.
