Obituary

Hazel M. Baker, 84, of Xenia, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital. We take comfort in knowing that Hazel is now with her Lord and Savior, healed and resting in His everlasting peace. She was born on January 26, 1941, in Cookeville, Tennessee, the daughter of Wade and Avo Martin Dyer.

Hazel was a devoted member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church and a woman of deep faith. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernard Baker, whom she married on September 3, 1960; two daughters, Tina Baker and Lisa (Steve) Back; and two grandchildren, Ryan Back and Lauren Back. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends who enriched her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.

Hazel will be remembered for her sharp wit and direct sense of humor, her steadfast faith, and the love she shared with all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the many dear friends from Dayton Avenue whose tireless love, visits, and support meant so much to Hazel during these past several months.

A Celebration of Hazel's Life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church, 1121 Dayton Avenue, Xenia, Ohio 45385. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the celebration of life and graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Hazel's memory to Dayton Avenue Baptist Church. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
