Homer Keith Waugh, 77, of Xenia, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, at Trinity of Fairborn. He was born March 29, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Homer Lawrence and Mary Hazel Gorman Waugh. He was a graduate of Xenia High School, a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War, and retired as an officer with the Xenia Police Department with over 20 years of employment where he received several Meritorious Service Awards (1972,75,1992,93) and numerous letters of commendation for service above and beyond the call of duty. He is survived by two sisters, Edith Waugh, and Connie (Glenn) Martin, of Xenia, two sisters-in-law, Linda Maxwell, Connersville, IN, and Judith Silvey, Hillsboro, OH, by nieces, April (Jimmy) McIntosh, Sandy Daniels, Chris South, Dawn Maxwell, nephews, Daniel Martin, Phil Maxwell, Aaron Batson, and Allen Batson (Shawna), by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Peggy Waugh, on May 3, 2020, and by a brother, Donald Waugh. Keith loved camping and vacations in Hawaii with his wife. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in New Burlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2808 Reading Rd., Cincinnati, OH, 45206, the Fisher House, 4100 W.
