J. Herman Randall, 100, of Cedarville, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Pristine Senior Living of Jamestown. He was born June 7, 1917, in Cedarville, Ohio, the son of Earl and Mary Leila Hackett Randall. He was in the feed and grain business for several years, as well as director for Country Mutual Insurance. He was active in the Greene County Agricultural Society (Fair Board) serving as president, was a 25 year Cedarville township trustee, and was an active leader in the Cedarville United Methodist Church. Besides farming and raising his beloved draft horses, he also was a long-time Cedarville businessman, operating one of the village's two feed and seed businesses. He served as Grand Marshall of the Cedarfest Parade in 2014 and a street was named after him honoring his many contributions to the community. He was a member of Cedarville Masonic Lodge # 622, F. & A. M., and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton. He is survived by a son, Robert (Kim) Randall, Jamestown, six grandchildren, Rob (Tracie) Morrow, Krista (Steve) Boyd, Rachael (Chris) Lairson, Joshua (Amber) Morrow, Amanda Chambliss, and David Randall, six great-grandchildren, Katie Morrow, Kyla Boyd, Emma Morrow, Jamie Morrow, Tyler Ashbeck, and Elynn Morrow, two great-great-grandchildren, Gage and Jaxsen, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Treva Harner Randall, on March 9, 2009, by a daughter, Ruth Ann Stewart, and by two sisters, Eloise Bowman, and Katherine McDonald Gregg. Herman will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10:30am, Friday, December 1, at Cedarville United Methodist church, with Rev. Tim Holley officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Thursday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Masonic services at 7:30pm. Burial will be in Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville.
