James Fry, 100, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Hospitality Home East. He was born October 23, 1916, in Newtonsville, Ohio, the son of Andrew and Rachel Pierce Fry. He was a lifelong Greene County Farmer. He is survived by two daughters, Carol (James) Morris, Jr., and Ann (Frank) Morrow, two sons, James (Janet) Fry, and Richard (Christine) Fry, all of Xenia, 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mildred Vogt and Virginia Siebert, of Milford, a brother, Ben Fry, of Hamilton, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Cathryn Louise (Retzch) Fry, on April 28, 1999, and by four sisters and four brothers. Services will be held at 11am, Saturday, January 21, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10am Saturday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bowersville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 15120. Chicago, IL, 60693, in his memory.
