Janet E. (Pickering) Borton, 84, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Soin Medical Center. She was born January 2, 1938, in Paintersville, Ohio, the daughter of Howard S. and Edith Bales Pickering. She was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church, the Miami Chapter #107, O.E.S., and retired from the Xenia Community Schools. She is survived by a daughter, Shelley (Chris) Aleshire, Senecaville, two sons, Tim Borton, and Greg Borton, of Dayton, grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Miller, New Albany, Brooke (Justin) McCartney, Lancaster, and Corey (Asya) Borton, Kettering, a great-grandson, Boone, a sister, Geraldine Voorhees, Illinois, two sisters-in-law, Betty Pickering, Arizona, and Joyce Pickering, Xenia, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Reginald Farrell Borton, on May 28, 2002, three sisters, an infant twin, Jeannie Pickering, Kathryn Pickering and Virginia Flege, and by three brothers, Max Pickering, Robert Pickering, and Roger Lee Pickering. Janet will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Private services will be held by the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
