Janet Lee (Hendee) Merriman, 89 of Xenia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2024. She was born July 14, 1934, in Clinton County, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest and Mary (Middleton) Hendee. She was a 1952 graduate of Xenia Central High School, and retired as the cafeteria manager at Xenia Community Schools. She is survived by a daughter, Jeanie (Neil) Gilmore, Wilmington, a son Jerry (Cyndi) Merriman, Xenia, four grandchildren, Julie (Tim) Kelley, Liberty, IN, Jared (Liz ) Merriman, Jamestown, Phillip (Kristy) Gilmore, West Carrollton and Becky (Matthew) Labadie, Kettering, great-grandchildren, Coleton, Makenna, James, Lyla, Edna Joy, and baby girl Merriman arriving July 2024, two sisters-in-law, Patricia Harris, Xenia, Sue (Paul) Morris, Xenia, brother-in-law, Thomas (Janet) Merriman, Xenia, and a special cousin, Linda Linkhart, Michigan, by several nieces and nephews and by many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers-in-law, Russ Harris and Charles Merriman, her husband of seventy years, William Glen Merriman, Jr., on November 17, 2022.  Janet passionately enjoyed attending and supporting her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, especially the friends and staff at Shawnee Estates, Xenia.  Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday, March 28, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N Detroit St., Xenia. Private graveside services will be held in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
