Obituary

Jenny Kaye Grimes, 72, of Jamestown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, 19 April 2022.  She was born 26 February 1950 in Jamestown, OH, the daughter of Robert and Joyce Garringer.  She is survived by her husband Charles "Chuck" Richard Grimes, son Travis (Melissa) Grimes, and daughter Tisa (Rick) Lenix, grandchildren Kaleb (Olivia) Grimes, Colby and Jackson Grimes, Jocelyn and Seth Lenix.  Kaye is also survived by her mother, Joyce Garringer, three sisters, Karen Gohlke, Jill (Frank) Edelinski, and Joni (Bob) Allen and numerous nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Garringer, and in-laws Howard and Mildred Grimes of Unionville Center, OH, and one nephew Matthew Gohlke.

Kaye was a 1968 graduate of Greeneview High School and graduate of Urbana College in 1973 with a degree in Elementary Education.  She and Chuck married March 19, 1971 and shortly thereafter Chuck entered the United States Air Force.  Kaye loved her country and enjoyed serving many years as an Air Force Officer's wife.  She and Chuck were stationed at various bases across the country before they finally returned home to live in the Jamestown area.  Kaye also spent time teaching second grade at Xenia Nazarene Christian School, as well as playing piano and teaching youth piano lessons.

Kaye was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who was incredibly proud of her family.

She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Jamestown, serving in many capacities over the years, always having a heart to share the Gospel.  She and Chuck faithfully brought many kids to church, planting seeds and investing time in their lives.

Services will be held at 11am, Friday, April 29, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Xenia, Ohio, with Pastor Josh Bevan officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Friday until service time at the church. Burial will be in Silvercreek Township Cemetery, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2040 W. Second St., Xenia, OH, 45385, or to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH, 45420, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at ww.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
