Joan Francis Anderson, 82, of Xenia, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. She was born January 11, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Florence Hiney Francis. She was a 1958 graduate of Xenia High School, and was a member of Xenia Nazarene Church. She retired after 30 years of teaching with New Miami and Xenia Community Schools. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly (Scott) Sacre, Louisville, KY, and Karen (Todd) Nolen, Xenia, a son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Laura) Anderson, Waynesville, grandchildren, Mallory Sacre, Chloe Sacre, Jacob Sacre, Grace Nolen, Darby Nolen, Cameron Anderson, and Ryleigh Anderson, a brother, Jerry (Jo) Francis) Bellbrook, a half-sister, Janet (Tom) Tompkins, Fairborn, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including her very special friend John Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a half-brother, Dennis Spriggs. Joan had a love and passion for dance her whole life. She went from dancing at Miss Donna's School of Dance in Dayton to traveling with the Pat Boone Show after high school to later taking up ballroom dancing and clogging. She had a love for adventure and travel, and enjoyed learning to play instruments like the violin and dulcimer. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held at Xenia Nazarene Church on Sunday, May 15th for family and close friends.
