Joanne Austin-Sproat, 74, of Xenia, passed away (Friday, April 29, 2022) at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born March 8, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Annabelle Broerman. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jamestown, and spent her career advocating for others as a social worker, retiring from WPAFB. Most recently, she continued to serve others as a board member of the Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County and worked for the National Organization for Victim Assistance.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Sproat, a son Matthew (Marra) Austin of Williamsburg, VA, and two daughters, Elizabeth Austin (Steve Holsinger) of Columbus, and Christine (Charles) Fannin, of Worthington, five grandchildren, a brother, William Broerman, Manchester, several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her first husband, Milton R. Austin.  Joanne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 1pm, Friday, May 20, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Jamestown, for Joanne and her husband Glenn with a celebration of life gathering from 2-4pm at the church hall. Private burial will be held by the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
