John F. Kopp, 86, of Xenia, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Miami Valley Hospital South. He was born August 5, 1930, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of John T. and Nancy (Billups) Kopp. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, retired as a trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and was a supervisory manager at GM-Harrison Radiator, Dayton. He was a member of the Xenia Elks Lodge, # 668. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Campbell-Hampson and Neil Hampson, Beavercreek, and Carol (Mike) Parker, Xenia, a son, Daniel R. (Mary) Kopp, Columbus, five grandchildren, Nicholas Kopp, Ann Roberts, Laura Berry, Christopher Campbell, and Theodore Campbell, 11 great-grandchildren, Gavin, Katie, Kelsey, Evan, Cody, Kayla, Seldon, Andrew, Michelle, Kensee, and Klayton, a sister, Elizabeth (Larry) May, Florida, three brothers, Charlie Kopp, Columbus, Raymond Kopp, Dayton, and James (Mary Ann) Kopp, Englewood, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie G. (Blevings) Kopp, on July 26, 2012, and by four brothers, William Kopp, George Kopp, Theodore Kopp, and Thomas Kopp. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Saturday, October 1, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Friday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Entombment will follow the Mass at Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Centerville.
