John David Middleton, 80, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Physician's Regional Hospital, Naples, Florida. He was born January 4, 1937, in Greene County, Ohio, the son of Wayne James and Alice Eleanor Doughfman Middleton. He was a member of Eleazer United Methodist Church, a Greene County realtor, and for many years ran Middleton's Corner with his brother Bob. He was a Caesarcreek Township trustee for 12 years, and was affectionately known as the "Mayor of Middleton's Corner".  He is survived by his wife, Mona Fae (Fleming) Middleton, whom he married, February 28, 1953, three daughters, Pam (Dale) Morse, Texas, Kathy (Scott) McPherson, Xenia, and Lynda Middleton, Centerville, 4 grandchildren, Erich (Meredith) Morse, Erin (Begee) Biggs, Jason Shope and Adam (Nikki) Shope, 7 great-grandchildren, Austin, Carlyn, Kaityln, Jared, Ella, Samuel, and J.D.,  a sister, Martha Jane Cunningham, Grove City, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, John Middleton, Jr., three brothers, James W. Middleton, Donald O. Middleton, and Robert W. Middleton, Sr., and by two sisters, Laura Anna Adamson and Mary Jean Osman. John will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 10am, Monday, April 10, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Rick Tettau and Rev. John Beers officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery.
