Obituary

Joseph W. Berry, 92, of Wilmington, OH formerly of Cedarville, OH passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 1, 1922, in Longton, Kansas, the son of Charles and Anna Osterfelt Berry. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during World War II in the 432nd Platoon. He retired from Vernay Laboratories. He is survived by a daughter, Gail (Tom) Matson, Wilmington; two grandchildren, Cassie Pemberton, Fairborn, and Tony (Becky) Brown, Napa, CA; a great-grandson, Austin Berg; two step grandchildren, Fred Matson, Xenia, and Alisha Matson; two step great- grandsons, Miles (Brittney) and Jessie (Kendra Engle) Miller; and two step great-great- granddaughters; sisters-in-law, Letha (Charles) Kimball, Yellow Springs, Ann Burden, Xenia, and brother-in-law, James (Sheila) Patterson, Georgia; by several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aunt and Uncle who cared for him, Howard and Elizabeth Cunningham, and by his wife, June Berry, on June 23, 1996. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am, Monday, February 9, at Massie Creek Cemetery, Cedarville. There will be no visitation. There will be a Celebration of Life Open House on Sunday February 8th, from 2 to 4 at the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, 30 W. Chillicothe St. in Cedarville.
