Joseph Broerman, 96 , of Xenia, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 4, 1921, in Norwood, Ohio, the son of Leo and Bernadine Mauntel Broerman. He was a member of St. Brigid Church, Xenia and a former member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Cincinnati. He was a veteran of the United State Army Air Corps, serving during World War II, and retired as a radio and television technician. He is survived by a son, William Joseph Broerman, Manchester, a daughter, Joanne (Glenn) Austin-Sproat, Xenia, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Wilbert (Norma) Broerman, Cincinnati, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Annabelle (Corbett) Broerman, in 1995, and by his second wife, Margaret Ann (Shelton) Broerman, on November 15, 2014, and by two brothers, Leonard Broerman and Edward Broerman. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Thursday, September 28, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in his memory.
