Joseph Boyd "Joe" Wheeler, 90, of Xenia, formerly of Spring Valley, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025. He was born October 4, 1934, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the son of Harry Allen and Ruth Ala Barnhart Wheeler. He was a 1952 graduate of Spring Valley High School, was a part owner of R.S. Cripps Construction, was Master Mechanic at Pypers-Construction, and on the Indiana Pipeline. He was a member of Xenia Masonic Lodge, #49, F & A.M., Antioch Shrine (Dayton), and the Aldora Chapter #262, O.E.S. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Muterspaw) Wheeler, whom he married, February 18, 1956, his children, Greg (Heidi) Wheeler, Gina Wheeler, and Natalie (Mick) Harris, a son-in-law Jeff Beaver, five grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) Stanalonis, Amy Beaver, Brent (Andrea) Beaver, Josie Suanne Harris, and Dean Joseph Harris, step-grandchildren, Kevin (Kristi) Anderson, Vallery (Steve) Prell, and Sharon (Brian) Deters, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Warren Wheeler, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Karen Kay Beaver, a sister, Emma Jean Hughes, and by two brothers, David Wheeler and Wayne Wheeler. Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Services will be held at 11am, Friday, June 20, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Jonathan Purdy officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Friday, until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the FISH Food Pantry, P.
