Joyce Ann (Wakely) Reese, 84, of Cedarvile, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at Brookdale Assisted Living of Oakwood. She was born January 23, 1938, in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Alvin and Helen Dalby Wakely. She married Allen Eugene Reese who predeceased her in death, and by a sister Linda Ringer. She is survived by two children, Gina Reese and Steve Reese both of Cedarville four grandchildren – Jennifer (Jeremy) Burgess of Wilmington , Brian (Jamie) Bogenschutz of Xenia, Amy Dixon of Xenia and Steven Reese, Jamestown and seven great-grandchildren. She was a 1956 graduate of Xenia Central High School and a graduate of Central State University, 6th grade Tecumseh Elementary teacher for eight years, member of Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, Church organist for years, Cedar Cliff School Board member from 1977-1997 (President 8 yrs and VP-4 years), Cedar Cliff Board Representative to Greene County Career Center, served on the Greene County Board of Education, 20 years Administrative Legal Secretary, served on the Cedarville Opera House Board, and was instrumental in the restoration, renovation, and operation of same 1994-2005. She was inducted into Greene County Women's Hall of Fame on September 29, 2007. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 10am, Thursday, March 10, at North Cemetery, Cedarville, with Pastor Anne Horton officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, 30 W. Washington St. P. O. Box 52, Cedarville, OH, 45314, or to the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association, 31 W. Whipp Rd., Dayton, OH, 45459, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com .
