June (Swanson) Harshbarger, 88, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born June 18, 1934, in Morgantown, West Virginia, the daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Freme) Swanson. June was a graduate of West Virginia University, taught English at Morgantown High School, was vice president of Visual Information Institute, (Vii), enjoyed volunteering at her precinct voting polls, and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church (XUPC). She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, John Harold Harshbarger, Jr. She is survived by her siblings Paul (Judy) Swanson of Jupiter, FL, Richard (Katherine) Swanson of Morgantown, WV, Karen, "Suzie", (Charles) Pellerin, of Vienna, VA, Art Swanson of Morgantown, WV, a son John, "Johnny", Harshbarger, III, of Xenia, OH, two daughters, Amy (Thor) Tangvald of Terrace Park, OH, and Kathryn (Stuart) Francis of Cincinnati, OH nine grandchildren, Odin (Brittany), Ashley(Kristin), Rainor, Jack, Baldur (Colleen), Morganne (Kyle), Holly (Jon), Hannah (Matt), Paul, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 30 ^th , 2022 at 11:00 am, at Xenia United Presbyterian Church, 343 W. Ankeney Mill rd., Xenia, Ohio, with Rev. Mike Wakeland officiating.
