Kenneth R. Kroger, 86 of Wheaton, Illinois, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday morning, August 2, 2026, at Miami Valley South Hospital, Centerville, Ohio. He was born September 6, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Kenneth T. and Ruth Abell Kroger. He was a graduate of Wheaton College, retired as an art teacher with Glenbard North High School and was a member of College Church, Wheaton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years,, Elizabeth “Liz” (Peterson) Kroger, children, David (Mary) Kroger, Jennifer (David) Starkweather, Elizabeth (Webb) McCanse, and William (Rachel) Kroger, grandchildren, Brittany (Connor) McCormick, Andrew (Emily) Starkweather, Matthew (Joy) Starkweather, Emily Kroger, Sarah Kroger, Anna Kroger, Rex Kroger, Allie Kroger, Kelly May Kroger, Audrey Kroger, Morgan (Sam) Hagenbuch, Kenny McCanse, Hannah McCanse, Amy McCanse, Thaddeus McCanse and Peter McCanse, great-grandchildren, Grayson, Maggie, Maren and Kirby, a sister, Cindy (Steve) Andreson, a brother, Bruce (Ann) Kroger and by several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, August 6, at Spring Valley Cemetery. A Celebration of Ken’s life will be held at College Church, Wheaton, Illinois at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to College Church Missions, Wheaton, IL., in his memory.
