Larry R. Ellsberry, 87, of Xenia, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 25, 1937, in Xenia, Ohio, the son of Raymond F. and Frieda (Shaw) Ellsberry. He was a 1955 graduate of Xenia Central High School. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a member of Xenia United Presbyterian Church, Xenia Masonic Lodge, Xenia Elks Lodge and a previous board member of Housing Solutions of Greene County and past president of Xenia Optimist Club. He retired as a systems analyst after 42 years with NCR. He is survived by his wife, Janet Raylene (Lowry) Ellsberry, whom he married, August 1, 1956, two daughters, Pamela Ellsberry and Karen (Ronnie) Day, grandchildren, Steven (Tasha) Ellsberry, Heather Thompson, Richard T. Boone, Michaela Grubbs, Meagan Grubbs, Brittany (Nic) Bryan, and Mackenzie (Jordan) Hitt, ten great-grandchildren, a sister, Jean (Dave) Louderback, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a son, Douglas R. Ellsberry. Larry was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private burial will be held by the family in Valley View Memorial Gardens.
